How to call China from abroad (+86)
The country code for China is +86 (ISO codes CN and CHN). You need it every time you phone China from another country.
To call China in four steps:
- Dial your international access prefix: 00 in most countries, 011 from the USA and Canada, or simply + on a mobile phone.
- Dial the China country code: 86.
- Dial the local number. If it starts with a 0 (the national trunk prefix), leave that 0 out; a few countries, such as Italy, keep it.
- Result: +86 followed by the local number, e.g. +86 [local number].
